Hands On Giving is the Ken Jewish Community´s Tikum Olam program. Its goal is to provide our youth and their families with ¨hands on¨ opportunities to participate in community service.
- Alpha Homeless Center: With much joy, our volunteer members prepared gift bags and personally delivered jackets and food to the homeless people who reside in the Alpha Project in downtown San Diego. We want to thank every donor and every volunteer for making such a special activity happen.
- GMAJ Jewish Closet: Hands on Giving hand in hand with Aluma and all the KEN, light the first Hannukkah candle on November 27th with more than 60 guests from Gmach. KEN members donated more than 250 toys and Aluma Chanichim hosted a Hannukkah party at the KEN giving their 100%. The party had activities, food, music and a lot more.
- Sister Sophie Homeless Food Drive: Four Madrichim joined three Latinos for Israel teens in a community service. Sister Sofphie has been feeding the homeless on Saturdays for 20 years. The teens did a great job cleaning the pantry and helping with the cooking.

As part of the KEN Jewish Community’s compromise to Tzdaka value and love for Israel, and in collaboration with the Tel Aviv Foundation the KEN Jewish Community built this fantastic new and modern park in a low income area of Tel Aviv. The park was inaugurated in the third trimester of 2012, and is today the pride and joy of the area making kids from the neighborhood happy. Many KEN memebers visit the park every year, as well as the KEN’s Aluma group who make it a must visit stop during during their graduating trip to Israel.
